The Singapore Country Manager (CM) is responsible for guiding the organization to deliver “Breakthroughs that change patients’ lives,” as part of ’s purpose-driven growth agenda and is directly responsible for management of the entire Biopharmaceuticals Group (PBG) portfolio in Singapore.
The Singapore CM is the external face and voice of with our most senior stakeholders: Government, Trade Associations, External Stakeholders, Media and Payers. The CM supports the entire business by working to influence the business environment externally for success across the entire portfolio, ensuring we maximize our « 25 new medicines in the hands of patients by 2025 » by securing market access for our new medicines and vaccines. The CM is the leader that brings company culture to life by being a Blueprint Leader and bringing our key values of Courage, Excellence, Equity and Joy to life in the organization.
The Singapore CM plays a pivotal role in the development and execution of the country’s strategic plan for the country to achieve its strategic and financial objectives. As the company representative, the CM also takes responsibility for overseeing the Singapore Office operations and all of its activities across all Functions and managing director of company legal entities.
The Singapore CM directly leads an organization of close to 50 colleagues and has direct accountability for driving growth for the entire PBG portfolio and preparing the market for launches, while proactively manage the organization P&L. The projected revenues for PBG Singapore in 2021 are approximately US$72M with double digit growth.
The complexity and scope of this position requires a constant balancing of priorities, adapting to ever-changing internal/external environments and acting independently using sound business judgment and decision-making.
The incumbent is expected to demonstrate proven capabilities in the following:

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Single face of for managing country healthcare environment issues and shaping the environment, so it is conducive for innovative market access.

Building reputation & presenting value proposition to government, large institutions and payers
Legal and fiduciary responsibilities, compliance management and relationship with pharma associations as the representative of in industry and other trade organizations.
Directly manage a team of 8 including Category Leads, Digital Capability, Market Access/Pricing, Corporate Affairs and Communications. Provide leadership to other enabling functions.
Identify and represent the service level needs of the country and priorities and enabling functions. Ensure all categories and businesses are served effectively by the shared functions
Drive Long term strategy for the market and also develop aspirations in line with Bold Moves for the country.
Lead the roll-out of regional/global initiatives, communication and policies.
Propose, obtain agreement to, and guide the implementation of strategic and operating plans which will provide for the realization of product plans, successfully exploit business opportunities and ensure financial targets are achieved.
Anticipate, influence and appropriately respond to developments in the legal and regulatory environments.
Ensure the successful identification, planning and exploitation of new product and new business opportunities and partnerships to develop the business in line with Global / Regional strategic direction.
Ensure optimal allocation of resources for the attainment of business goals and objectives
Ensure the financial control of the business
Ensure compliance of regulations and policies at all levels of the organization and ingrain a strong culture of Winning the Right Way
Attract, develop and retain key talent and develop leaders in the organization

MBA or other relevant advanced degree strongly preferred
Extensive Pharmaceutical and broader healthcare business knowledge including in-country commercial role experiences
Deep understanding of P&L
Good knowledge of tender & hospital business/ knowledge of dispensing market
Demonstrated commercial success with experience in managing a sizable commercial operation
Proven effectiveness to manage large and complex portfolios requiring innovative diverse business strategies
Significant and successful people management and talent development experience
Experience in any of the following areasInnovative Access solutions, Policy shaping, External stakeholder engagement and dealing with dynamic health care Systems evolution environments.
