SUMMARY This senior manager position assists the Director of GlobalSupport & Intelligence in conducting analysis, developing/ implementing/maintaining projects and programs for Marriott's international properties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Security Analysis and Crisis Management
Monitor political, economic, terrorism and crimetrends worldwide and, where necessary, provide briefs on developments that mayaffect operations.
Provide monthly worldwide threat analysisreport, weekly security updates, situation reports (SITREPs) and in-depthanalysis (should a situation arise).
Produce written and verbal reports and analysesin logical and concise written format for associates and management of thecompany both on routine and ad-hoc assignments.
Provides intelligence support and threatassessments in emerging markets for Global Safety & SecurityTechnicalServices and the Architecture and Construction (A&C) group to ensure properdesign and systems philosophies are implemented on all new construction andrenovation projects.
Manage intelligence efforts across a range ofcompany activities including Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT),Human-Intelligence (HUMINT), third-party provider information/analysissubscriptions and other sources to complete analysis and forecasting.
Ensure Threat Condition Chart is current at alltimes. Communicate and publish the chart whenever there is a change.
Assist Director of Global Support &Intelligence in developing and maintaining Traveler Safety Program, providetrip briefs and communicate alerts with Marriott travelers.
Support Global Safety & Security Departmentin Marriott's Crisis Management Program.Serve as Crisis Logistics Coordinator (CLC) for Marriott's Asia PacificCrisis Management Team and Area Crisis Teams. Ensure the Crisis ManagementPlans are current on a bi-annual basis.
Assist Global Safety & Security team for theAsia Pacific in logistics and crisis exercise training for properties,Continental Crisis Management Team and Area Crisis Management Teams (Tier One).
Maintain, develop and update training resourcesfor property level Loss Prevention Dept.
Coordinate with a third-party vendor to conductCrisis Management Compliance Audits and prepare final audit report for CrisisCompliance Audit Committee to review audit results.
Facilitates loss prevention training programs toeducate loss prevention personnel in developing their safety, security andcrisis management skills.
Always seek new technology to enhance productsand services.
Direct the safety and security effort in theabsence of the Director of Global Support & Intelligence.
Perform other duties as assigned to meetbusiness needs.
Liaise with public and private sectorcounterparts as appropriate.
Training and Education
Assist GS&S Training Team to maintain,develop and update existing training programs to ensure hotels are meetingsecurity and safety standards and organize continental training conferences andGS&S Academy courses in the fields.
Provide guidance for new hotels how to locatepre-opening training manuals and resources on Marriott Global Source (MGS) andensure the establishment of accident prevention and security management plansand actions. Update guidelines for international properties as required.
Prepare agenda and seek presentations andspeakers for the annual GS&S joint staff meeting and GS&S staffmeetings.
Provide logistical support for Tier One CrisisTeams for Asia Pacific and help develop tabletop exercises for Tier One CrisisTeams.
Promote the annual Safety and Security Awarenessmonth campaign in the field and manage GS&S-International's role byparticipating in trade show and coordinating with Risk Management and vendors.
Write, edit and design quarterly newsletter.Information should be collected and articles solicited from the field. Providea training column in each issue and promote best practices and standardoperating procedures through 'spotlighted' articles. Update Associates on new training projectsand resources. Coordinate with regional loss prevention directors and HQ LawDepartment for updated news/topic related articles.
Write and post updates, news and resources onMarriott Global Source (MGS).
Coordinate and oversee Global Safety &Security's award and recognition programs.
Minimumsix years related experience insecurity or intelligence is preferred.
Experience as a federal government employee, lawenforcement personnel, corporate security or private sector intelligenceanalyst is an advantage.
Experience living and/or working abroad ispreferred.
Skills and Knowledge
Must be fluent in English. Proven ability towrite effectively and professionally in clear, concise English.
Knowledge of additional language(s) ispreferred.
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
Superior communication skills effectively andconcisely both verbally and in writing. Effective briefer when interacting withinternal and external audiences.
Knowledge of intelligence gathering and stronganalytical and oral presentation skills.
Must be competent in computer skills, includingknowledge of applications involving word processing, desktop publishing,databases and presentations. Proficiency in MS Office applications (MS Office365, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Publisher, Access, Picture Manager, SharePoint,etc.)
Technical capability in producing polishedanalytic products making appropriate use of style, formatting, graphics andgeospatial information. Proficiency in Web-based search tools, applications,and communication technology required.
Demonstrate an ability to work independentlywith minimal guidance and supervision.
Working knowledge of geography, cultures andcustoms of the countries that Marriott operates in.
Knowledge of terrorist organizations, methodsand mitigation measures to prevent future attacks.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevantdiscipline (Business, Political Science, International Relations, NationalSecurity Studies, Public Administration, Security/Crisis Management, StrategicIntelligence, Journalism, etc.) is required.
Master's degree highly desirable.
Possess subject matter expertise in Asia Pacificas well as the ability to operate as a generalist on other security areas andissues.
Some international travel will be required.
Ability to bridge cultural differences and workeffectively with team members spread across several different locations andtime zones.
Willingness to work outside of normal businesshours and cover 24/7 Crisis Watch Duty every other weekend.
Perform well under pressure and able to managestressful situations.
Demonstrate ability to thrive in a creative,innovative, and highly collaborative work environment. A proactive individualwho is process-driven and details-oriented.
Able to manage multiple complex tasks underpressure of tight deadlines.
