Job Purpose:

The Business Unit Director has overall responsibility of managing the Software & Analytics and accelerating the growth of the various business verticals within Advance Solutions by signing up vendors, identifying and recruiting right talent, setting up business process and policies with an aspirational goal. Owns the P&L for Advance Solutions business, the relationship with key reseller customers. Owns the strategic development of the business including expansion into all product lines and additional alliances.This is a leadership role but will not have people management for now.

Responsibilities:
  • Vendors and Brand Management, including managing existing vendors for growth and identifying and driving new vendors onboarding. This should include driving vendors hyper performance with Tech Data and ensuring a consistent APAC approach across our vendors. This does not limit to selected vendors but all Modern Data Center (MDC) or Analytics Vendors.

  • Commercial Experience – Success and experience in leading and executing strategies to drive growth while balancing the operations needs of the business. This is a “roll up sleeve” role and expected to deliver incremental value to both regional and country stake key performance holders.

  • Leadership and Collaboration – Experience in working successfully and navigating a matrix organization, working with Global, Regional and Country teams. Ability to influence, collaborate and lead with conviction to ensure execution and implementation of strategy in APAC. Know when to say “No” and when to accelerate collaboration to achieve Tech Data’s APAC success.

  • Accountability – Performance based on APAC BU performance and metrics. This will include EBITA, ROIC, and MBO objectives of vendors, teams or initiatives achievement. Accountable to drive incremental and year on year growth performance. Has a mindset and skillset to execute through an extended team.

    Own the execution of the strategy for Tech Data India Advance Solutions & Networking Business.

  • Setting robust Sales Business Planning for APAC. Manage and execute this planning in alignment with in-country Sales teams.

  • Being a role model for employees, vendors and customers; responsible for ensuring right customer and team approach among the Tech Data Sales teams. Responsible for setting dynamic and challenging targets in line with the company objectives and delivering according to the plan.

  • Owns senior relationships with key reseller customers

  • Owns senior relationships with regional Vendor management/leadership

  • Set strategic direction for Advance Solutions business in conjunction with global and regional APAC leadership

  • Input into strategy and direction

  • Directional input into purchasing, sales and pricing policy.

  • Recruitment, leadership, management and coaching of staff to achieve Business unit objectives

  • Contribution of new ideas for planning and execution at strategic and operational levels

  • Escalation point of contact for all customer and vendor topics

  • Development and management of the business plans

  • Identify market growth opportunities and build plans to capitalize

  • Ownership of the annual operating plan (AOP)

  • Drive share of wallet (market share) and market growth targets

  • Development of key channel relationships

  • Internal key stakeholder engagement up to board level

  • Create a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement

  • Manage customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction & customer success

  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 20 + years of experience in the IT Distribution industry / IT sales domain

  • Experienced in brand or product management is a must

  • Demonstrated ability to run a Business Unit successfully before. including comfort with cadence, forecast, numbers driven mentality.

  • Proven success in leveraging functional support such as Marketing, Solutions, Operations to deliver desired outcome. Positive with a growth mindset but with a balance perspective on being realistic, willing to constant set, plan & achieve aspirational challenges

  • Must have keen interest and understand the development of Analytics space, in the areas not limited to AI, ML, Big Data. Knowledge of Analytics vendors and upcoming new technology in Analytics space and how we can build a roadmap to build new vendors in Analytics.

  • Must have a solution approach in areas such as Digital Transformation and how to use Analytics to drive end users DX strategy. Prefer to know and is familiar with the APAC vendors executives
