Develop and deliver a variety of software training to the Firm's employees (both existing staff and new hires). This includes:
working with the Legal Technology team as required to develop training strategies and initiatives to meet specific needs of the Firm's end-user community as well as to develop and implement effective training programs to assist in the adoption and deployment of new legal technology software as and when implemented;
presenting and/or training end users in a manner appropriate for the content and audience, which may include one-on-one training sessions, classroom training, remote training, e-learning, multimedia, floor support, product demo and print and electronic documentation;
demonstrating the operations of software to end users upon request;
identifying training needs via training requests;
attending trainings by software vendors to familiarise with the software/technology being rolled out; and
managing training event logistics from start to finish such as coordinating and scheduling all aspects of classes including creating training reports, scheduling conference rooms, provision of refreshments, sending invitations/reminders/confirmations, and keeping records of training attendance, and coordinating with various departments for the necessary support required for the training.
Facilitate e-Learning within the Firm by developing and implementing e-learning training programs for lawyers and staff. This includes:
working closely with HC and KIT and other functional departments to facilitate the learning needs of the Firm with respect to the use and administration of the learning management system (LMS), including the creation of curriculum for online learning;
assisting with the creation, provision and management of multimedia training products including, but not limited to, the development of online end user training using a variety of tools and software. The role will require understanding and managing content functions of the LMS;
coordinating the Firm's e-learning initiatives and monitoring the proper functioning and adherence to the training standards of the Firm's e-learning courseware;
evaluating e-learning modules and content for their ability to meet the needs of new hire training, professional development, technology rollout training, or ongoing education;
developing LMS teaching aides such as outlines, handouts, instructions, tip sheets, FAQs, and other reference materials;
using the LMS to administer training programs; and
working with Technology/HC/KIT departments to successfully test and implement all upgrades to the LMS.
Develop Tech-Related Material
Develop course outlines, exercises, instructional materials, and self-guided learning tools covering topics related to the Firm's approved software, hardware and mobile devices as required. This includes:
designing, writing and maintaining print and electronic documentation, including user guides, quick reference manuals and tips;
participating in training meetings or conference calls and/or working groups to prepare for adoption, upgrades, writing materials, and learning processes;
working with Tech/Legal Tech teams to continuously improve and update the content of training materials to coincide with system enhancements so as to ensure training materials are maintained in line with updated software; and
building a knowledge library to aid individual learning as necessary.
Deployment of Technology
Work with the Legal Technology team in evaluating and testing automated templates, new systems or processes, and new legal technology being trialled or implemented as requested. This includes:
supporting technology adoption and implementation including QA of deployments, creating and administering surveys and other information request material seeking feedback from end-users; and
collating feedback as part of the release life cycle.
A bachelor's degree is required (one in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field is preferred).
In addition, the ideal candidate should have:
previous experience as an IT Trainer either from a legal or professional services background;
excellent verbal and written communication skills in all media;
experience in instructional design and writing documentation for technology training;
a high standard of personal presentation and excellent ability to deliver presentations to all levels and audience size of staff/management for instructional purposes;
experience in developing e-learning/multimedia courseware and supporting technology via end user training initiatives;
experience delivering training within a professional services environment and be able to effectively communicate new ways of working to non-technical staff;
ability to create high level training courses that incorporate experiential learning activities to meet the needs and culture of the audience;
knowledge and proficiency in a wide variety of software programmes, including Windows 10, MS Office 2016/2019 (Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Outlook), Office 365, DMS etc.;
ability to work independently;
a mature, strong confident yet diplomatic personality;
ability to display a positive, high-energy attitude;
ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the appropriate discretion; and
organisational skills needed to manage time well and prioritise effectively.
